FAQs

  • We offer a smooth booking process which allows you to get in touch with your ideas, while selecting your tattoo artist or having us choose for you. Just head over to our Contact page. We also have a huge selection of original, hand painted flash on the walls to select from and offer walk-ins when we have free slots available.

  • Yes, we’re happy to take walk-in’s whenever our artists have time. We also frequently offer walk-in Saturday’s which can be seen posted across our social media.

  • Absolutely. These usually require a free consultation for our artist to take a look in person and aren’t always possible, but we are happy to take a look and discuss your options.

  • Yes, of course. We will usually need to redraw your idea rather than copying it line for line. Our artists will discuss with you the changes we need to make. If you know the style you like, then you can give us your idea and let us come up with something for you.

  • We always try our best to give you an accurate estimate based on the information provided. However, they are just estimates that are subject to change. Things that can affect this include how well you sit for the tattoo, size and placement, level of detail and many other small little details. If you’re working to a budget, you should let your artist know, as they may need to make design changes to allow for this.

  • Although this is a service we offered for years, it’s one we’ve chosen to no longer offer.

  • That depends on size, placement and detail. Smaller tattoos may take around 30 minutes to an hour, while larger or multi-session pieces like sleeves will take much longer. Your artist will give you a more precise estimate during consultation.

  • We no longer offer this service at Black Letter.

  • Most people feel some discomfort, but pain varies depending on placement, design, size and your own pain tolerance. We use care and technique to make you as comfortable as possible.

  • We provide you with aftercare instructions including cleaning, moisturising, and protecting your new tattoo from sun and excessive moisture. Proper aftercare helps with healing and ensures your tattoo remains vibrant.

  • Yes, we offer consultations so you can discuss your design, placement and pricing in person with the artist. Consultations help ensure the final result matches your vision.

  • Deposits may be paid by cash or card. You will need to pay the remaining balance with cash on the day of your appointment. Deposits are required for bookings and starting large pieces. Please ask your artist for more details.

  • If you need to cancel or reschedule, please contact us as soon as possible. Our standard cancellation policy means you need to give us at least 72 hours notice or risk losing your deposit.
